EF turbo daily work hack
This is my ef daily started life as a higher than average stocker. I chucked my 17's on it and a set of super lows all around. After a couple of months driving I done a head gasket and had a freak incident where a rock busted the front of my sump. The only other sump I had laying around had an oil drain for turbo, so I figured I may as well turbo the old girl. So here we are, after two weekends of work. The first weekend was dropping k-frame (never ever again) fitted sump and fitted the turbo setup non intercooler. The second weekend was fitting fmic, fuel system and battery relocation. I've been driving it like this for about a year as a daily now. It runs a t04z with steam pipe manifold and 50mm external gate, intank 040 fuel pump and a vortech 12:1 reg.

Re: EF turbo daily work hack
Thanks at the moment I have the motor out of this one! It is being replaced by a built 4.0l with 040" forged pistons, spool con rods, crank girdle for strength, ported head with bigger valves and angry cam, crow vernier cam gear, Mls head gasket and arp bolt set. Then in the new year it will be getting my new garrett gt4094r turbo and six boost manifold.

Re: EF turbo daily work hack
I did have a couple when I was younger lol. I have never had a std car though! My mate and I do a lot of turbo cars for ourself and others for something to do, and a bit of extra $$ here and there. I might post some pics of our other vl's and his r33 skyline that we are also working on at the moment.

Re: EF turbo daily work hack
I have also just thrown together another LSD in the spare housing I have. I have put a set of 3.45:1 gears in out of one of my old spare vl diffs. The 3.08.1 was making her just a bit to sluggish off the line, the new gears should see her launching pretty well.

Re: EF turbo daily work hack
Ok cool nice to meet you rod, I should have some new pics up in the next few weeks. The motor is out at the moment. The engine bay "should" look a lot better once it's all back together. Just waiting on the electroplaters to send some chromed parts back to me.

Re: EF turbo daily work hack
Thanks holly your input is also greatly appreciated, and I class you as a mate also I am only chroming a few bolts so won't be overly shiny! I have redone another rocker cover in the same blue, painted all the brackets and braces gloss black and the inlet manifold has been painted. All the hold down bolts for the painted parts will be chromed! Hopefully it will turn out alright.
